With the “Book for String Quartet: Einklang” by William Blank (born 1957) – a world premiere recording – the Swiss musicians have achieved something remarkable: the Canadian composer’s musical world hovers between passages overlapping and grinding against one another and massive blocks of sound, between precise chords and noise-like clusters.
