"Things Will Matter" is the much anticipated second LP from Cambridge five-piece Lonely The Brave. Recorded with leading producer Ross Orton (Drenge, M.I.A, Arctic Monkeys) "Things Will Matter" the band have been able to create the expansive sound they had aimed for, with experimentation and ambition a key part of a record brimming with ideas - from the pulse behind the minimalist, claustrophobic opener "Wait In The Car" to the cataclysmic post-rock magnificence of closer "Jaws Of Hell", this is a play-through album. There's the doomy intensity of comeback track "Black Mire", through to the hooks David Jakes is already well known for in the anthemic choruses to "Rattlesnakes", "Dust & Bones" and first single "Radar". Lonely The Brave's debut, "The Day's War", was an album both critically acclaimed and adored by fans, receiving the full 5K's in a lead Kerrang! review and a similarly glowing two-page lead in Rock Sound. What set Lonely The Brave apart from their peers was how they couldn't be hemmed into that rock world alone - also picking up accolades from the likes of The Independent, The Telegraph, Mojo and The Guardian. Retaining that strong sense of melody and thoughtful lyricism that has won them such a dedicated fanbase already, yet still pushing the envelope further in terms of what the band are capable of, "Things Will Matter" feels like the natural progression from a band hitting their stride and full of confidence after nearly two years in the spotlight. Praise for 'Black Mire', the first track released from the new record: "A grandiose new sound" Evening Standard "A big, hulking beast of a track" Shortlist "Grungy, K2-sized riffs, chiming melodies and anguished vocals - this has 90's alt.rock written all over it" Metro "This song confirms the band have lost none of the power of their critically acclaimed debut The Day's War" Kerrang! "An explosive return" Clash
