In 1966, the "Sidewinders" group was organized by the students of Syracuse University, the composition of which stabilized only in 1969. In the same year the band's name was changed to "Jam Factory". The musicians were heavily influenced by “Blood, Sweat & Tears” and for a long time were known only within their region - New York State. In 1970, the Epic label released their debut album Sittin 'In The Trap, followed by an endless tour of the country. The popularity of "Jam Factory" grew and they performed with many of the then celebrities on numerous occasions. The group disbanded in 1973. Earl Ford returned to Syracuse, recorded with Wet Willie, Marshall Tucker Band, Hydra, Bonnie Bramlett, Grinderswitch, etc. Steve Marcone became a professor at Syracuse University's School Of Music, Mark Hoffamnn took up production. The most successful was the further musical career of Joe English, who accompanied Paul McCartney and “Wings” on their concerts and performances, and later was a member of the group “Sea Level”.
