"Bululú" is the hubbub. That of the streets of Caracas and Maracaibo, but also the tumult of the tributaries of the Orinoco, on the banks of which live the Waraos Indians. It is again the hum of farm workers busying themselves in the coffee, cocoa, sugar cane or tobacco plantations.
Windows and ears wide open to the very rich musical culture of Venezuela, 5 artists are inspired by the popular music of this country and the "work songs" that have accompanied its unique history. Resulting from several centuries of interbreeding, meeting point of pre-Columbian, Arab-Andalusian, Afro-Caribbean music, this music tells about the environment, everyday life, social reality and the sacred.
Emmanuelle Saby uses her voice to exalt these everyday songs and words that she colors with her own Venezuelan experiences. A country that she has been discovering for several years, through stays and meetings with musicians who allow her to perceive all its musical richness.
Inspired by this heritage, she offered Jean-Paul Autin, Guillaume Grenard and Olivier Bost a meeting between música criolla venezolana and the wide range of the ARFI musical toolbox. To complete this training, Emmanuelle Saby invited Yuko Oshima, a drummer and percussionist.
Thus, the cuatro is added to the vocals. Popular instrument from Venezuela if there is one, which mixes with other instruments: saxophone, flutes, clarinets, kenarinette, trombone, bugle, euphonium, trumpet, guitar, laptop, electric bass.
