The somewhat mysterious pianist Patrick Cohen (probably best known by his collaborations with Christophe Coin and the Quatuor Mosaïques) made a series of fine recordings with Glossa in the 1990s. This one is the first. On an original 1855 erard grand piano, Cohen surveys some of the most important piano music produced in Spain in the 19th century, including works of notable composers such as Marcial del Adalid and Adolfo de Quesada.
