You can’t believe that Lucien Fraipont, the man behind the stage name Robbing Millions, is good friends with MGMT. The American duo weirdo’s is not afraid to let songs go off the rails or even fly off the track, and in this way they found their own variant of electro-pop and psychedelia, which is not far from what this Brussels resident does. He is sitting with his second album, Holidays inside, even on the MGMT label, and that can make it a little easier to reach a large enough audience.
The exciting Holidays inside With its eighteen tracks, it never repeats itself and so boredom doesn’t stand a chance. This singer/guitarist also shows his jazz background in his compositions, which is linked to elements from electro-pop, new wave, bebop, avant-garde and afro-pop. When the listener alternately thinks of Kraftwerk, The Beatles, Frank Zappa, New Order and Yoko Ono in twenty minutes, it can start to get dizzy. Who then scrambles up again and Holidays inside gives him enough listens, he may have found a record that he can continue with all summer. If you prefer bite-sized kibble, find another food bowl.
