Chris Meck has been a fixture in the Kansas City music scene for years as a sideman/guitarist as well as recording engineer/producer. He has performed with Alejandro Escovedo, Jon Dee Graham, The Architects, Maria The Mexican, Julia Othmer and Kristie Stremel among others, as lead guitar in several theatrical presentations of Pink Floyd's "The Wall", a sold out performance of The Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street" and his own bands-namely Tiny Horse, Atlantic Fadeout, and The Gaslights-winners of The Pitch Weekly's Best Folk/Americana award in 2008 after three European tours and countless stateside trips. Chris was also a founding member of the Midwest Music Foundation, formed upon the diagnosis of his wife Abigail Henderson with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The MMF supports the Kansas City music community, with an emergency healthcare fund for musicians and promotes KC music via special events such as the four day showcase Midcoast Takeover at SXSW. Upon the passing of his wife and musical partner Abigail Henderson in August 2013 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer, Chris formed The Guilty Birds and has assumed a new role as singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer.
