This set combines one disc each from Bert Kaempfert and James Last, two bandleaders who started their recording careers in the 1960s and turned out pleasant, big-band and smoothly orchestrated more-pop-than-jazz MOR catalogs that ruffled no-one's feathers. Both Kaempfert and Last were hugely successful, both finding a comfortable niche firmly in the middle of the road, and their styles fit together well here, with no bumps or bruises.
