Adriana Calcanhotto - Senhas (1992)

With her second album, Adriana Calcanhotto had a song included in the soap opera Renascer ("Senhas") and the single sold 150,000 copies nationally. The album of the same name has an acoustic sonority which inscribes it perfectly in the MPB category (which is abandoned for a pop profile on her third release, A Fábrica do Poema). This one brings sambas, both classics ("Mulato Calado," M. Batista/B. Batista) and originals ("Tons," propelled by the full percussion provided by Mangueira do Amanhã, and "Motivo"). "Esquadros" is a beautiful ballad.
