Ruby is the latest solo album from Robbie Schaefer, featuring Jake Armerding (fiddle, mandolin, vocals) and Rachael Davis (vocals,banjo). Recorded over four days in a 19th-century stone farmhouse in Leesburg, VA, the album presents 10 new original songs, a whole lotta love, and at least one barking dog. Some of the songs on the album, including "No More Goodbyes", "By Your Side", and "Ring the Bell", have been performed in recent years by Robbie’s folk-rock alter ego, Eddie From Ohio, while others were still being written as they were recorded. Robbie calls Ruby, "a cycle of heart-songs, about not just falling in love, but being in love with myself, my wife, and life in all its fullness". If you didn't just roll your eyes, this album is probably for you. If you did roll your eyes, you're a little dead inside. If you just put your hand to your heart and made a small sound, you should probably buy 10.
