The Freaky Buds - Hard Days, Fuzzy Nights (2021)

The Freaky Buds was born in Nantes as a matter of course, without its members really realizing it. Max, Thomas and Hugo often meet in the living room of one or the kitchen of the other to play the Blues that has always been close to their bodies.

Over the course of recording sessions without means, these little tinkering where they experiment with everything that goes through their heads, the idea of reproducing the same atmosphere on a stage is imposed. The concerts follow one another; their complicity is evident when they abandon themselves to the hypnotic grooves and rough sounds that form their repertoire of the time : the Rockin' Blues of R. L Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, John Lee Hooker or the Red Devils.

It is then that comes the desire to write, to bring unpretentiously a part of themselves to this music that animates them by mixing their influences of today and resolutely more rock: The Black Keys, The Arcs, Richard Swift...

Then comes Lonj, a multi-instrumentalist of the Bordeaux scene who puts his guitar at the service of compositions in constant evolution, with a powerful sound, effective and airy melodies.

In January 2019, the Buds released "Fisherman's Tale" and "Next to you" for free listening on the internet. Two tracks that are the genesis of an album to come very soon .

The Freaky Buds are a band to be seen on stage for their atypical formula where the four become one and transmit to the crowd a mixture of timeless music, improvisation and passion.
