First time meeting for the trio of saxophonist Dave Liebman with superb percussionists Adam Rudolph and Hamid Drake. The album is titled Chi, and the freely improvised pieces here take that concept as their root, leading to a powerful and spiritual statement. Plus, you get to hear Hamid use his frame drum, which is always wonderful.
