Pia Tafdrup & Køs is an interdisciplinary generational meeting between the experienced poetess and the three musical siblings. Launched in 2018, the project has developed into a collective joint ownership where Tafdrup's poems are immersed in Køs ’vibrant musical landscapes.

Pia Tafdrup made her debut in 1981 and is considered one of the greatest poets of her generation. She has been translated into many languages and over the years has made numerous reading tours around the world. Among many prizes, she received the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 1999 for the collection of poems Dronningeporten, written in 1998, and in 2006 she received the Swedish Academy's Nordic Prize.

Maria Dybbroe, Valdemar Kragelund and Kristian Saarup, like Køs, unite their love of both grandeur and fragility. In an electroacoustic universe, the sound of saxophone and drums is mixed, bent and manipulated, which causes the instruments to melt together, stand out, or form completely new and unknown sounds. Sometimes the music is reminiscent of a pop hit - other times it sounds like ambient electronic music - or a quilt of 40 saxophones.

With the release “Out Of A Mouth”, Pia Tafdrup and Køs add a new exciting chapter to their collaboration with an ambitious work that will be released on Barefoot Records. The album is composed of themes that go across Pia Tafdrup's collections of poems from her work series on the five senses: "The Taste of Steel" (2014), "The Smell of Snow" (2016) and "The Sight of Light" (2018), " The Sound Of Clouds ”(2020) and the fifth unpublished book on the sense of touch.
