Vladimir Torres - Music for a Locked in Double Bass (2021) Hi Res

Vladimir Torres, of Uruguayan origin, grew up and trained in France. He is self-taught on the double bass.

It was alongside Ritary Gaguenetti, Marion Roch and Fayçal Salhi that he became known, traveling the world as a musician since 2002.

In 20 years, Vladimir collaborates as bassist, double bassist, composer or arranger on more than thirty albums. He records for the artists with whom he performs on stage, or as a studio musician, in very different musical styles. (Pop, Salsa, Jazz, Song.)

He also created music for three contemporary dance shows. Two with the dancer Cécile Danjou and one with the Odradek company.

Having shared the stage with Tom Moretti for many years, and more recently met the pianist Martin Schiffmann, he presents in 2020 his album “INICIAL”, forged in his trio animated by a strong musical bond, enriched by the presence of Christophe Panzani at the saxophones and Damien Groleau on flutes. His music is Jazz that has its roots in Latin America as well as in the Middle East, all tinged with urban rhythms. In 2021 Vladimir released his solo album “Music for a Locked in Double Bass”.

Vladimir thinks he is, in his music, as influenced by Claude Debussy, Pat Metheny, Petros Klampanis, Bill Evans, as by the musicians with whom he shares the stage.
