“Chicago” Carl Snyder has been performing the blues for over 50 years. During a 30-year sojourn in the Windy City he worked and/or recorded with a great number of artists including Junior Wells, Son Seals, Jimmy Johnson, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, John Primer, Johnny B. Moore, Zora Young, A.C. Reed, Aron Burton, Lefty Dizz, Joanne Connor, Buddy Guy, Andre Williams, Eddie Burks, Jimmy Rogers and Louis Myers. He played on two albums that won the Handy Award, two others that were nominated for Grammies, and appeared in a National Geographic special, Blues Highway, that was nominated for an Academy Award. Along the way, he got to jam with such other notables as Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, John Fogarty, Memphis Slim and Jaco Pastorius.
After moving to Pennsylvania in 1996 he launched his record label, Lost World Music, which has released over two dozen blues and jazz CDs. As of this writing, he has played on over 40 albums, Here, with a focus on Carl's unique keyboard style, is a selection of tracks from the Lost World blues catalog.
