escribir:, group led by Juan Saidón, presents their second album of original music, haikus. With this job, escribir: he becomes the first group to edit two albums through Isla Desierta Discos.
haikus is an investigation into the musical possibilities proposed by the imaginary posed by haiku (Japanese literary genre), through the gaze of the contemporary urban artist. From this process eight original compositions result in which a strong melodic presence, the use of sound space and economy of resources prevail.
This exploration takes some constitutive elements of this literary genre (nature, dispossession and the brief) to aesthetically anchor itself in the improvisational tradition of jazz and contemporary instrumental song.
haikus marks a deepening of the work started with the first album of this project, write: (IDD002, 2019). On this occasion, the original line-up of two electric guitars and drums expands, incorporating double bass, soprano clarinet and bass clarinet, to give rise to new arrangements and timbral possibilities.
