Marco Martínez Asturian guitarist who studied at Musikene presents us with an original project called ‘Noi’ where music is mixed with theater.

The origin of this project is the play ‘Everything Is There’, a free version of the novel ‘The Three Sisters’ by Chekhov written by the Navarrese Victoria A. Mussetti.

For this album Marco, apart from his guitar and voice, has had the invaluable help of musicians such as Horacio García on the double bass, precious his beginning of ‘NOI’ and Pier Bruera on drums as a fixed rhythm section.

In addition, we must highlight the collaborations of Eladio Díaz who with his sax leaves his mark on a couple of songs, 'Quebranto' and, especially, in 'Sensibilidad', Cesar Latorre who fills the miniatures' Sensitivity 2.7 with beauty with his solo piano 'and' Sensibilidad 2.9 'and Fernando Arias has taken care of the percussions in' Noi '.

The 10 compositions of the album arise from the mind of Marco Martínez himself, who shows his involvement with the work from the first minute with the lyric 'Este Tema Lo Escrí Para Irene', one of the 3 characters, along with Andrés and Olga, protagonists of ' Everything is there. '

Themes such as 'Cizalla', the 3 'Sensibilities' recorded, the tense, within an order, 'Act Fourth', the more relaxed 'Capricho y Ceguera', where Marco puts his voice, or the more moved 'Quebranto', we They show other facets of the guitarist who moves like a fish in water between musical sweetness and the simplest emotions, giving rise to a personal story that does not leave indifferent.

‘NOI’, as a theme and as an album, is pure Marco, it comes from jazz, it has overtones of the greats like Hall, Pass, Metheny or Frissell and a good dose of elegance that is always appreciated.

At the end, a sensitive memory of the work ‘Everything is there’ origin of the project.

All this was easy to foresee coming from a guy with a degree in Musikene, a professor at the School of Modern Music and Jazz in Oviedo and pedagogical director of the Siero Improvisation Seminar, and who has developed an intense jazz work in his own groups such as the Quatro Jazz Quartet. , Marco Martínez Special Trio and also collaborating, among others, with Connections 4tet, ED Hip Hop Experience, Eladio Díaz Control Z or Joaquín Chacón.
