Trio Marie Soldat - Beethoven: Piano Trio, Op. 70 No. 2 & Schubert: Piano Trio Op. 100 (2021) [Hi-Res]

Newly formed Trio Marie Soldat releases its eagerly awaited debut album on Linn. Comprising violinist Cecilia Bernardini, fortepianist Keiko Shichijo and cellist Marcus van den Munckhof, the Dutch trio takes its name from Marie Soldat-Roeger, a pupil of Joseph Joachim and celebrated violinist who formed perhaps the first all-women chamber group in 1887 known as the Soldat Quartet. The programme includes two E-flat major masterpieces of the genre, fittingly performed on period instruments.

Spellbinding !
Gorgeous, profound but fantastic :))
Subtle and intimate Shichijo (Fortepiano), charming Cecilia (Violin) and her husband (Cello) is expansive :)
About Beethoven hard to tell with delicate and intellectual Alexander Melnikov, about Schubert I prefer Andreas Staier who takes us even to the hell but this is also almost equal !!

Schubert's 4th movement:
1. 1st version (exposition repeat), heavenly length, here
2. 1st version without repeat according to players
3. Published version (no repeat and also different from 1st version, for example the end of the development has no 2nd movement's theme, not 3 times but 2 times - in the 1st half of the development & in the coda - in total)

Check also Shichijo's Mozart & Beethoven,
"Around Mozart" and "Mozart, Hummel and Beethoven" by Cecilia & Marcus !

This year's my best chamber music rather than "Quatuor Ébène - 'Round Midnight" !!
Thanks a lot
