Stephan Geiger - Bonsai (2021)

Stephan Geiger (born October 11, 1993 in Münster) grew up in Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest. He received his first trumpet lessons at the age of nine. At the age of 13 he had jazz trumpet lessons with Bernd Hufnagel and already two years later he was playing in the big band of the Trossingen University of Music. In 2009 he was accepted into the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra. In 2010 he moved to Cologne and took trumpet lessons with Klaus Osterloh.

After graduating from the Hildegard von Bingen Gymnasium in 2013, Stephan Geiger completed his studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance in jazz trumpet and improvisation with Prof. Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann with Claudius Valk, which he successfully completed in 2018 with a Bachelor of music .

From 2014-2016 he was a member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester Hessen. In 2014 he was awarded first prize in the “Jugend Jazzt” competition in Hessen. From 2015-2018 he was a member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester NRW. In 2015 he received a partial scholarship to the Berklee College of Music.

The band MOZAH was formed in the summer of 2018 and has been on tour with them a lot since then.
