Şevket Akıncı - Dünyada Saat Kaç? (2021) Hi-Res

“Four Winged Bird” is the name of a poetry book by Dağlarca. I like the image. Flute, saxophone, drum and I form the wings, other vocals and ambient sounds form the space. The bird flies from one planet to another; You can think of the intro at the beginning and the outro in the finale like these planets. The original version of this piece was originally written to a commission by the Hezarfen Ensemble, for viola, cello, flute, clarinet and kemenche and was played at a festival in Cologne. Then I adapted it again for more electric instruments. I changed a lot of places. But the longer version of this piece was played at the premiere of Escher Chronicles' Borusan Music House. Philip Glass is based on counterpoint and rhythm, like the minimalist music of Steve Reich. I wanted to imagine the more electrified and somewhat “jazzized” version of this single. In this version, which we produced with dear Mehmet Korkmaz, the drum soloist and other instruments, who are normally accompaniments, are in the "accompaniment" position.
