The sound of a violin duo is very special: two instruments with the same timbre but with distinct, sometimes contrasting but always perfectly attuned.

Performing as PimaDuo, siblings Matteo and Maddalena Pippa bring to life a programme of rarely performed and original repertoire for this instrumental combination with empathy and authority. The recording opens with the intense and elaborate Sonata for Two Violins by Ysaÿe in its unabridged version, followed by Prokofiev’s compelling Sonata Op. 56, and concluding with the world première recording of the Petite Suite pour Tonio Cavilla by Andrea Manzoli.
