Pianist and composer with a long and prolific career, Manel Camp is an absolute musician who has been outstanding in all suits of the sound pack: classical, jazz, fusion, traditional, song, dance... On his jazz side, the one we will see in this concert, his ability to cultivate his own language within the universality of the genre stands out, as does the loyalty to a stable quartet made up of musicians bloodied in a thousand battles, such as double bassist Horacio Fumero, trumpeter Matthew Simon and drummer Lluís Ribalta, each one a top-flight soloist who lead their own projects parallel to this. With their close cooperation, he has created the essence of his latest work, Tangram, an album clearly highlighting the result of so many years' work together and where the maturity and experience gained enable Manel Camp to offer his most solid and consistent work of a distinctly Catalan jazz and Mediterranean sound.
