A popular deejay since the mid-‘70s, Jah Thomas first topped the Jamaican charts with his single “Midnight Rock.” Turning his attention to production by the turn of the decade, Thomas set up his own Midnight Rock label, taking the name from his hit song. 12” RULERS is a prime collection of the producer’s work for the then fledgling U.K. label, Greensleeves. Perfectly encapsulating the best of the post-roots/pre-dancehall era through artists like Tristan Palma, Michael Palmer and Little John, the collection showcases the ace production hand of this multi-talented artist.
