Present voice, strong, vigorous, calibrated in the mid-bass, Letizia Lucchesi is a very interesting vocalist who, in her album published by the careful label Alfa Music, seeks and finds swing first of all, original songs of great class, for a coherent tracklist, enveloping and very elegant.
Letizia's voice is agile in the mid-bass, powerful in the chrome plating, well supported by a five-star quartet: Pino Jodice on the piano, Luca Pirozzi on the double bass, Pietro Jodice (how good!) On the drums, guest master Maurizio Giammarco on the sax , a rare formation in the contemporary jazz scene.
The album unravels original songs and a splendid pearl of one of the greatest Brazilian inspiration, the Ivan Lins of Love Dance, as a self-portrait of a vocalist with very mobile counterpoints concentrated in atmospheres of deep concentration, polished in a subtle musical personality in the harmonies and in the marked soloist personality, mobile in chromatic textures, mobile in a pasty and mature stylistic mobility.
Lucchesi thrives on emotions, of giving space to colors rather than instrumental cascades, of a strong and visceral swing, incisive, certainly rational and dynamic.
In my personal opinion, it is easy to identify the musts of the album, the ones with the most swing and the greatest pathos, Hire Wire, Dreamland and Portrait of you, the result of a remarkable artistic collaboration that never stops on the surface and enters the heart of the music.
