This is an album originally recorded 20 years ago and due to strange circumstances, never released! Heres what happened: after the release of The Sweet Baby James Trio album “More Like This” in ‘99, I met with a label executive overseas to discuss releasing a follow up album, and was verbally given the green light to record an album for release. I came back, and Rob (who I’d only starting playing with that year, 2002) and I got bass player Jenna Bonavita to spend 6 months rehearsing and recording what became “Fine Line”. Mixed and mastered, I sent it over to the record company and received back a one line email, ‘Not quite the sound I was thinking of, send another one when you can’. By this time, Rob and I were doing gigs playing old juke joint blues songs we had a mutual love of, just as a side project for fun, and as we started to gain an audience for that we decided to make that our main gig, and the rest is history! So, on this occasion of Rob and my 20th anniversary of forming SBJ&RE I thought it would be a great moment for you to finally hear it. ~James
