Originally from the Washington DC area, Kate MacLeod has lived in Utah since 1979. Kate is a songwriter and instrumentalist who tours nationally and into Europe. Awarded as Best of the West 2019 from the Folk Alliance International Far-West Division, she's a versatile musician who contributes in many ways to the culture of the Utah region. In addition to recording and performing her own music, her songs been performed and recorded by many other artists in Americana, Bluegrass, Celtic, and other roots music genres. She's worked with Utah musicians for many years, including producing recordings for artists Anke Summerhill, Triggers and Slips, and producing a U.Utah Phillips Tribute recording. Kate is often compared to Emmylou Harris, Joni Mitchell, and Richard Thompson.
