Super skill !
Accurate and colorful :)
But not so emotional nor capricious some works require, I think :p
By the way which competition is most difficult, Genève or München ?
He won the 3rd at München in 2017 :))
Jeung Beum Sohn (1st) and Fabian Müller (2nd) are also here :)
Many thanks

I'm not even sure why he's still entering competitions at this stage of his career - or, perhaps he's now done with them since he's playing Brahms 1 with the Berlin Phil in March.
I don't think Korean/Japanese pianists do 'emotion' particularly well in some music, although this is not an ideal program to display that anyway. Sonoda was not good at emotion in his playing (some of his Mozart is downright frozen) - but no one could ever come to the conclusion he was anything other than a great pianist. I think Hisasue shows similar promise.
