Everett Fox Band - Everett Fox Band (2008)

A New York city native, Everett Fox was playing keyboards and singing his songs in Soho clubs at the age of 16. By 18 he was performing his material with bands whose material varied from rock to blues-inspired pop. The incorporation of his classical music and rock background and his love for the funkier sounds of New York City created the framework for his unique style. While the Everett Fox Band has always been alternative, over time the sound has shifted from a piano-led Zeppelin analog funk bounce to a more crafted and visual sound painting. With the latest album the band drew from more Urban/Jazz elements. The new self-titled album is a lush texture of urban beats combined with Beatlesque melodies, quirky vocals, and a sophisticated retro style. The emphasis is on complicated and introspective writing with a layered studio production.
