Lowell Fulson is renowned as an exceptional singer/guitarist; but among connoisseurs he is regarded above all as a great songwriter. Without doubt his most famous song is "Reconsider Baby", an out-and-out blues-standard that has been recorded by everybody from Bobby Bland to Elvis Presley. Lowell is later to respond to all this by writing the song "Im Glad You Reconsidered".
But he is also, for example, the author of "Three O'Clock Blues", with which B.B. King scores such a hit. Then too he is co-author of the classic "Everyday I Have The Blues" (although he has never been accorded due credit for the fact). Halfway through the Sixties he wrote "Tramp" which, sung by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas, goes shortly afterwards up the hitparade. /Excerpt from the liner notes.
