It's difficult to remember, but the Osmond Brothers -- including Donny -- laid down some serious country-pop hits during the urban cowboy era. This was a time period that gave listeners Lacy J. Dalton, T.G. Sheppard, Mel McDaniel, Johnny Lee, and dozens of others. Even Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck went country during this period -- the early '80s, folks. The Osmonds did it better than most. They were experienced singers on the Vegas circuit who learned to get by doing any kind of song as long as it was the right song. Here, the writers include Paul Kennerley ("Looking for Suzanne"), Diana Trask ("I Think About Your Lovin'"), and Bobby Springfield ("If Every Man Had a Woman Like You"), just to name a few. This is slick, overly polished stuff, but it's done very well by true professionals.
