Those familiar with Ravel's talent for transcription will not be surprised to hear his music played here on the marimba! In "Ravel Influence(s)", Trio SR9 and guests Kyrie Kristmanson, Shani Diluka and Astrig Siranossian explore his various sources of inspiration, from Spain to Russia. The program therefore includes transcriptions of works by Rachmaninoff, Fauré and De Falla, as well as the world premiere recording of Prisme for three prepared marimbas by Colombian composer Daniel Arango-Prada.
