La pianista Danila Tomassetti dedica questo suo primo lavoro discografico ad una delle più grandi tragedie shakespeariane mai scritte, quel Romeo and Juliet che non ha mancato di affascinare profondamente compositori e musicisti sin dal Settecento (si pensi al Singspiel di Romeo und Juliet di Georg Anton Benda). In questo caso si concentra su due autori diversi e per certi versi speculari come Tchaikovsky e Prokofiev. Del primo presenta una rara e poco eseguita versione per pianoforte solo trascritta da Carl Bial, contemporaneo dell'autore e per Prokofiev ci offre una profonda lettura dei 10 brani trascritti dall'autore stesso dal proprio balletto.
