In 1998, trumpeters Joe Magnarelli and John Swana released New York-Philly Junction to critical acclaim. Five years later, the participants gathered for a second round of neo-bop for the Criss Cross label. The twin trumpets are joined again by tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander, pianist Joel Weiskopf, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Kenny Washington. The aggregation is adept at both sharing and exchanging ideas alongside old-fashioned cutting contests, which aren't limited to just the two trumpets. Among the eight titles, four are split between Swana and Magnarelli originals, one from trumpeter Tom Harrell, and three standards, "My Old Flame," "They Say It's Wonderful," and "If Ever I Would Leave You."
