Hazem B - Afrochawi (2022)

Afrochawi will transport you to a club lost in the middle of dunes and mountains, redefining the boundaries between Afro, Berber and Techno cultures. It’s an encounter of the dancing kind, reviving electronic music through the depth of Tunisian North-West heritage, along with sub-Saharan feastful rhythms. It’s a collaborative effort between the electronic productions of Hazem B, the Chaoui Berber vocals of Nidhal Yahiaoui (Bargou 08, Alphawin Populaire), the felt sound of Mohamed Ben Salha’s Gasba flute, and Abdullaye Traore’s Djembe.

Hazem B is a nomad child who travels through cultures and artistic disciplines. As a DJ, he produces sounds from an imaginary place standing between desert and mountains, feeding from the depths of traditional North-African heritage. Beyond fusion, his music is an invitation to draw new musical borders between Berber tunes and Afrohouse.
