Composing electroacoustic music is a breathtaking, exciting adventure, exploring unknown and unforeseeable sonic worlds. This album contains electroacoustic pieces I composed between 2000 and 2021. I wrote two of the pieces for performer and live electronics, and the remaining three are acousmatic pieces (i.e. without performer).

For the pieces including live performers, I have been developing a live electronics program for over 20 years which allows for the complex and layered processing of the sounds produced by the performer.

Rainer Bürck is a free-lance composer and pianist based in the South of Germany. As a composer he has been focussing on electroacoustic music in recent years, creating acousmatic works and works for various performers, including live electronics. His works have been performed and broadcast world-wide.

As a pianist, Rainer Bürck works in the field of contemporary music and improvisation. Currently his main emphasis is his trio TRIONYS with Rainer Bürck / piano & electronics, Günter Marx / violin & electronics and Martin Bürck / percussion & electronics.

Special thanks to Stefan Östersjö, Marko Kassl and Günter Marx for their great collaboration and advice, and also to John Oliver for his tireless, excellent work preparing this album.

About the software:
Rainer Bürck has developed interactive MIDI/audio software since the 1980s. The software takes a musician's input sounds as MIDI and/or audio and the composer creates sound design processes that create the entire electroacoustic sound world from those input sounds.
