BIS release a world première recording of an opera by an emerging Finnish composer, written in 2009 and focussing on Georg Carl von Döbeln, Swedish general during the Swedish-Russian war which in 1809 resulted in Sweden losing Finland. The opera is sung in Swedish and Finnish, and the booklet includes a complete libretto with a parallell English translation. This SACD includes an insert featuring photos from the first production of the opera, and with a 60-page booklet - all enclosed in a card board slip case.
