Fifth cd for Abeat, by Fausto Ferraiuolo, with an emblematic title: "the gift". Underlying the title is the meeting, in wich giving and receiving are two aspects of the same gesture. The gesture is the spark for a relationship to begin. Souls meet playing music as during the lifetime. So " il dono" is sharing. Thus, each original composition sounds like a way to repay a debt of gratitude to its illustrious traveling companions: Aldo Vigorito ( on the doublebass) with whom Ferraiuolo boasts a historic collaboration, and Jeff Ballard ( on drums) , probably one of the most requested drummers on the world stage. Jeff Ballard, thanks to his militancy in the trio of Brad Meldhau, is co-creator of a style that has determined one of the most interesting recent stylistic evolutions in the jazzscene.
Great partners, great interplay, wonderful compositions for a "manifesto" of generosity
