Known for her impressionistic solo piano recordings, Liz Story recorded this album of pop standards in 1992, accompanied by her husband, bassist Joel Di Bartolo. The arrangements are straightforward, melodic, and very different from what Story fans may expect. Still, the duo's impeccable playing and Dawn Atkinson and Dick Grove's warm production make this a must-have for jazz and New Age audiences alike. On the final track, Story pays respect to her hero, pianist Bill Evans, with a wistful rendition of his ballad "Turn Out the Stars."
