At the end of February 2022, the musician and composer Tobias Reinsch, who was born in Augsburg in 1984, lost his battle with cancer far too early, which he had fought with great hope until the end. In a few weeks he would have become a father.

Many music lovers will probably recognize him as a member of his »Trio Zagh« (with five CDs released so far), in which he played exclusively his own compositions together with bassist Stefan Berger and Munich drummer Matthias Fischer, or as part of performances with his cover band » Silvertown« got to know. Since the winter semester of 2014, Tobias Reinsch, who studied jazz piano in Weimar and Würzburg, classical piano with Stephan Kaller and Gottfried Hefele and later organ with Prof. Daniel Glaus in postgraduate studies at the Bern University of the Arts, has had a teaching position as choir director at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences . Since 2017 he has also been teaching at the music workshop in Augsburg and as a teacher at the music school in Weilheim. He was employed as an organist and choirmaster for seven years in Mittelstetten (St. Magnus) and later in Kissing, from where in the Corona year Pastor Bernd Weidner practically "poached" him and for the position as church musician in the Augsburg-Oberhausen - Bärenkeller parish community (since August 1, 2020) was able to win and inspire.
In Bernd Weidner, Tobias Reinsch not only found a "fan" who was convinced of his endearing personality and his multifaceted musical ability, but also a pastor to the end, in whom he could confide in questions of the world and faith as well as his pain and suffering.
As a deeply religious person, it was more than logical that Reinsch rounded off and enriched his musical career with part-time training as a Catholic church musician. In this way he was able to combine and merge his passion for improvisation and the variants of jazz playing with the many spiritual components of musica sacra and, of course, playing the organ. Tobias Reinsch's compositional work ranged from solo pieces for piano and chamber music as well as pieces for big band and choirs to masses, orchestral works and pieces for jazz trio.
The »colorfulness« of the Oberhauser parish could undoubtedly have benefited from his special energy, his impulses and musical ideas. Anyone who talks about Tobias Reinsch's music always mentions the magic within it and the light-footedness with which he knew how to move between styles. His works and his way of acting as an interpreter were emotional, often melancholic and dreamy, full of esprit, more introverted than exalted and, as is often the case with musicians, also reflected part of his personality and essence.
