Benedic "Nostalgia 77" Lambin and Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi have long been friends, with the latter providing mix-downs and recording advice to the former since 2005. Here, Pelanconi finally gets a chance to deliver his own dubwise interpretations of Lambin's jazz, soul and funk-themed productions. Surprisingly, perhaps, it's a soundclash that works. There's some bold, dancefloor-friendly fare, of course - see the snaking saxophones and shuffling reggae riddims of "Seven Nation Army Dub" and the Afrobeat-meets-King Tubby flex of the almighty "Freedom (Zombie Dance Parts 1&2)" - but the most potent moments are often those that operate at a lower tempo. The formidably sparse and jazzy "Rainclouds Dub" and Mad Professor-ish "Little Steps Dub", in particular, are fantastic.
