This album has been a long time coming I started writing with the goal of putting out a record about two years ago. Each tune is a musical representation of some part of my life experience in those years and before, and together they paint a portrait of my coming of age in Colorado.
I'd like to dedicated this music to Brian Hamada and Jim Page, two wonderful souls who played a huge part in my musical upbringing and have since passed. I hear Brian every time my sticks hit a ride cymbal, and Jim's legacy is present in every young jazz musician who came up through the Milestones program, many of whom now share the love by teaching.
It's my hope that when you throw this record on you hear the wide open plains of eastern Colorado, moody winter afternoons, and every bit of fire that fueled these powerful musicians when they laid these tracks down.
