Udjat Ensemble - Writings of an Ancient King (2021)

UDJAT Ensemble are Sofia Sousa Claro (Co-founder, Composer, Singer), Hugo Claro (Co-founder, Composer, Portuguese Guitar; Mandolin, Vocals) and guests artists Sérgio Figueria (Classic Guitar) and Jorge Cunha Machado (Percussions, Overtone Singing)
Ensemble inspired by Mediterranean musical heritage, with a repertoire in which we identify the Iberian and Eastern roots, but also the Jewish heritage. His music, where the voice cohabitates with the Portuguese guitar and percussion, evokes ancestral sounds with a contemporary approach. UDJAT Ensemble released their first album “Udjat” in 2016, and the second “Ameretat” in the year 2017, with the special participation of the percussionist Hugo Tristão. This year 2021 they recorded their third album “Writigns of an Ancient King” with Jorge Cunha Machado (Percussions) and featured in one of the themes special guest Pedro Jóia (Classic Guitar).
