DeeRR - Punkal (2022) [Hi-Res]

We wanted our debut album 'Punkal' to be captivating, so we fused contemporary sounds with traditional and unusual structures to accompany the quirky Tassu vocals. Our project also caught the attention of French electronic legend Débruit and Afrofuturist Ibaaku, who participated in the remix EP for the lead single 'Senegal Bondelene'. The 9 tracks touch on many different aspects of the lives of the young Senegalese generation that can also be reflected in all of us - corruption, hedonism, closeness to nature and family and much more. The LP "Punkal" was created during several recording sessions where we captured all the raw and unpolished emotions that came up, and is the culmination of passionate lyricism and energetic rhythms that result in something quite unique.
