Rita Calypso - Sicalyptico (2004)

Rita Calypso is the real diva of Siesta. Her warm and shimmering splendour is a real imprint and such heartfelt style and delivery has earned constant praise all over the world. Sicalyptico is her second album to date and it is comprehensibly a timeless classic from start to finish. Nothing revolutionary for her but, this record incorporates a delicate sexy perspiration (Sicaliptico is synonymous with erotic in Spanish). This time Mateo Guiscafr has selected an astounding book of catchy, sublime, airy and melancholic songs (mostly from the swinging sixties, glorious early A&M times and unhonored songs) whereas Ramon Leal as supreme arranger has flavoured the record with the spice of lusty bossa-nova and magical orchestral arrangements. Do not mistake this Rita for the homonymous German transvestite. Our Rita is very feminine and not a drag artist!! Siesta. 2004.
