What musician doesn't dream of releasing an EP into the world? On August 12, this dream will come true for Dutch pianist Challem.

It is the honesty in the music of Challem, the pseudonym of Joachim van Marrewijk, that appeals to many. His plays read like a diary. "It is an instinctive phase in which the thoughts that reach me lead to these compositions," says the solo pianist about his work. The EP Aparigraha is the first in his oeuvre and contains six unique works, a mixture of dreamy and thoughtful compositions. Challem collaborated with Sam Jones from Studio Joneski and Davide Ruffini from Wisseloord Studios for this debut album, which will be available on all major streaming platforms from August 12, 2022.

Challem's new music was presented in June. The single Settle is an instrumental representation of what's going on in Challem's mind. A month later came the release of Sanne, but it is above all this first single that has not gone unnoticed on the well-known online streaming services. Upon its release, Settle shot to number one on Apple Music's classical charts. The single was also soon to be found on the Classic NL playlist and has been on the immensely popular Spotify playlist Peaceful Piano since mid-July.
