André Christovam is considered one of the blues' fathers in the Brazilian musical scenario, besides being one of the best guitarists in the country. Born in São Paulo, André studied music at the renowned Guitar Institute of Los Angeles (GIT) in the 1980s, becoming the first Brazilian to form this school.

Upon returning to Brazil in the mid-1980s, André worked with the most important Brazilian and international artists passing through the country, participating in bands like Fickle Pickle (band from Brazil) Kid Vinyl & Brazil's Heroes, Rita Lee and Roberto de Carvalho, Raul Seixas and Marcelo Nova. In the late 1980s, Andrew decides to record his first solo album with the album Mandinga, in 1989, a remarkable album to the national blues discography, mainly by unprecedented to bring a blues album with all songs in Portuguese.

In the 1990s, guitarist participated as a sideman tour of the harmonica player Sugar Blue and the recording of bluesman Taj Mahal show for Heineken Concerts series. And recorded a CD in Chicago, The 2120 Sessions with singer Big Voice Odom and band members of Junior Well.

André has five albums of his own and that his latest work, Chord, was recorded by Eldorado seal.
