When one thinks of all the great performers of soul and rhythm & blues music, one doesn’t usually associate it with a young man from Northern Ontario – until they meet Andre Bisson. The award winning composer, arranger, guitar player and vocalist is one of the hardest working musicians around. Soulful, talented and sharp Bisson was clearly born with a passion for music and performing, as well as the smarts and talent to pull it all together and build a large following in Southern Ontario and beyond.

Andre Bisson spent a large part of his formative years performing in bars and festivals in his home town prior to relocating to Hamilton to study at the acclaimed Applied Music Program at Mohawk College. It was here that Bisson, with his raspy and soulful voice, formed popular bands that would perform classic Rhythm & Blues and originals with his band Andre & The J-Tones.

Since their formation, Andre & The J-Tones have been entertaining audiences across Canada, Northern Ireland, England, Wales, and The Republic of Ireland. Their first overseas tour in the summer of 2012 & 2013 was by and large a success that saw the band performing at festivals including Bentworth Blues Festival, in England, Sunflowerfest in Northern Ireland, Blues Dragon in Cardiff, Wales and others, resulting in invitations to return to perform at future festivals and club dates.

One reviewer in attendance at the Harvest Time Blues Festival in Monaghan, Ireland had this to say: "A refreshingly, alternative musical experience was provided by the Canadian group Andre and The J-Tones. Not many blues bands have a song list which includes “Do You Love Me”, “On The Road Jack”, and “I Feel Good”. However, a combination of clever arrangements, tasteful guitar work, and exceptionally talented saxophone and trumpet players, contributed to a jazz, pop, and soul fusion sound which the audience loved." (Dave Scott - Blues Revue Magazine)

Bisson has been recognized in the blues community for his four studio album releases, gaining exposure through a number of positive reviews, and extensive radio airplay. Andre's first CD Rhythm & Blues Experience was nominated for Blues Recording of the Year at the 2009 Hamilton Awards, Voted Best Rhythm & blues Album of 2009 by Blues Underground Network, and Voted Best CD by the Hamilton Blues Lovers. Two subsequent releases Rhythm & Blues Christmas and Beyond The Covers further cemented Bisson’s place as a master in the rhythm and blues music scene. Most recently, Bisson was nominated for Blues Recording of the Year and Instrumental Recording of the Year for the 2012 Hamilton Music Awards.

With the completion of his fourth studio album Till the Real Thing Comes Along recorded at Hamilton's Boxcar Sound Recording Studio and released in Fall 2012, it is clear to hear that Andre has stayed true to his influences. Combining the driving bass lines of Motown, the raw vocal power of Stax, and the electrifying horn sections, this album is sure to bring any blues fan to their feet. Along with eight new originals, Bisson pays tribute to one of the greats with his version of Otis Redding’s “Don’t Mess with Cupid” and a surprising, funky version of Bon Jovi’s classic rock anthem “You Give Love A Bad Name”, rearranged for discerning blues fans and those who like to dance their cares away.

“If the latest CD from local guitar master Andre Bisson, Till the Real Thing Comes Along doesn't get you movin', you better check your pulse. This is the kind of music that's perfect for grooving' and having' a good time.” (Luis Avery - Hamilton Blues Lovers)

Always a consummate performer, Andre Bisson provides a refreshing, fun and enjoyable experience for music lovers.
