Wernyhora - Toloka (2022)

The award-winning group Wernyhora presents their second album. The album "Toloka" is another production released by the Music Agency of the Polish Radio. The debut album "Bojkowski Voice of the Bieszczady" was released last fall.

There was always less talk about Boyko's music than about Lemko or Hutsul music, although before World War II, Boykos constituted the overwhelming majority of the inhabitants of the Bieszczady Mountains.

With their new album, the Sanok trio WERNYHORA returns mainly the forgotten world of Boykos and their musical culture, but also the music of their neighbors. The artists propose a new interpretation and performance of traditional songs, although keeping the spirit of the original.
