In their third album "Radio fra ura", the John Pål Inderberg trio wants to highlight the connection between verbal and musical language. The trio is inspired by two great Norwegian authors; Kristofer Uppdal and Edvard Hoem. They read their own lyrics and the trio provide musical commentary to these soundtracks. In addition, Ragnhild Vannebo performs excerpts from Hoem's novel "Felemakaren". The attentive listener will experience tonal changes in the woman's voice, which also give drummer Mjåset Johansen rhythmic ideas for his interaction with Vannebo. In his composition "Radio fra ura" Inderberg has used a verbal language with sound and rhythm as supporting elements for the interaction with bassist Fiske and Mjåset Johansen. Kurt Schwitter's poem "Ursonate" forms a kind of formal template for "Radio fra ura". Visual artist Håkon Bleken was inspired by "Haugtussa" (Arne Garborg/Edvard Grieg) while working on the cover image "Head". "Haugtussa" carries with it the mysterious Norwegian folk tradition, which the trio takes forward by taking musical material from Nordic traditional music in combination with clear African-American sources.
