Karina Buschinger - Strauss, Staud & Enescu: Music for Violin and Piano (2014)

Karina Buschinger (*1978 Bucharest / Romania) received her first violin lessons at the age of six from her mother, Violeta Buschinger. She studied with Rosa Fain in Düsseldorf, with Maxim Vengerov in Saarbrücken and with Rainer Kussmaul in Freiburg i. Br., where she received her diploma in 2003 and her concert exam in 2006. She attended master classes with Igor Ozim, Herman Krebbers, Miriam Fried and Dmitri Sitkovetski. Karina Buschinger proved her high artistic rank at the Int. Leopold Mozart Competition, at the Int. Henryk Wieniawski Poznan Competition or at the West German Broadcasting Competition. She received the GWK Music Prize and was a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica in Mainz and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. Karina Buschinger has performed as a soloist throughout Germany, in Romania, Poland, France, Spain, Finland, Estonia, Canada and Asia. She played with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bucharest Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, among others.

Paul Rivinius (*1970) received his first piano lessons at the age of five. His teachers were initially Gustaf Grosch in Munich and Alexander Sellier, Walter Blankenheim and Nerine Barrett at the Saarbrücken Music Academy. After graduating from high school, he also studied horn with Marie-Luise Neunecker at the Frankfurt Music Academy and continued his piano studies with Raymund Havenith. From 1994 he attended Gerhard Oppitz's master class at the Musikhochschule in Munich, which he graduated in 1998 with distinction. Paul Rivinius was a long-standing member of the National Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. In addition, he celebrated successes with the Clemente Trio, founded in 1986, which, after several awards, won the renowned ARD competition in Munich in 1998 and then made guest appearances as a selected "Rising Star" ensemble in the ten most important concert halls in the world. Paul Rivinius teaches as a professor for chamber music at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin.
